Dine In For Gut Cancers

There’s no right kind of Dine In, you can make your dinner as formal or as casual as you like. It can be a breakfast, lunch, dinner, picnic, cocktail party or even a BBQ! For inspiration, grab a cookbook or use a supplier such as Food Bag.  If you’re keen to make it fancy, check out Pinterest for table setting ideas.

Plan Ahead

Many gatherings happen at the last minute, but when you’re hosting a Dine In we encourage you to give yourself some time to plan. It’s best to give your guests a heads up that they’ll be making a donation and give them an idea of what the Gut Cancer Foundation does, and perhaps why you support us.

Set up your own Dine In For Gut Cancer or choose one of the Gut Cancers to the left (for mobile devices, below) and have a Dine In that is more personal to you and your loved ones.

Gut Cancer Foundation

Gut Cancer Foundation is dedicated to improving the outcomes for patients with a gastro-intestinal (GI) cancer. We aim to increase awareness of GI cancers and raise funds to support clinical research in New Zealand, focusing particularly on clinical trials.

GI cancer is the term used for the group of cancers that affect the digestive system, i.e. the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gall bladder and bile ducts, pancreas and bowel. It is collectively the most common form of cancer, with over 5,100 new cases diagnosed each year in New Zealand (Ministry of Heath, 2016).

14 people are told each day they have a GI or gut cancer.
8 people die each day, that is more than breast and prostate cancer combined.

To improve the survival rates of GI cancer, we must provide funding for clinical research. Unfortunately, there is a critical lack of financial support for GI cancer clinical trials in New Zealand. GCF seeks to fill this funding gap to ensure that patients in New Zealand have access to the best possible treatments.

With your help, we can kick cancer in the guts!
