World AIDS Day is an opportunity to remember those we have lost and support our whānau living with HIV.

We all have loved ones that are affected by HIV- they’re our brothers, lovers, friends and colleagues. This year we are asking our community to take a stand against HIV stigma by hosting a RED themed event on Friday 30th November.

HIV treatments have come a long way over the last 30 years, but unfortunately, some attitudes in New Zealand have not. Stigma can be debilitating to those living with HIV, and it can prevent those at risk from seeking resources and getting tested.

It’s shocking that in 2018, a whopping 42% of Kiwis say they would feel uncomfortable eating food prepared by someone living with HIV, and 46% of New Zealanders would be uncomfortable letting their child play with a child living with HIV.

This 30th November we’re challenging Kiwis to participate in RED Friday and raise vital funds and awareness for World AIDS Day to help us end HIV stigma in Aotearoa.

Need some ideas? We've got you covered!
