The book can also be purchased by popping into Quake City, due to reopen early September 2017 at the corner of Armagh and Durham Streets.

About the book:

Have you ever wondered what goes on beneath our feet? In this stunning lift-the-flap picture book, you and your little ones can explore Christchurch’s hidden city. Find out where our water comes from, where it goes when you flush the toilet, and everything in between!

On your journey you will discover the amazing work Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT) has done to repair and rebuild our city’s roads, bridges, pipes and retaining walls. As the organisation wraps up soon, this is a must-have memoir for any Cantabrian.

By purchasing Christchurch – Our Underground Story you are giving the gift of togetherness to hundreds of Kiwi families who stay at Ronald McDonald House South Island every year. You are directly supporting their facilities, which provide a ‘home away from home’ for families who must travel to Christchurch and Southland hospitals for their child’s medical treatment.

As all net proceeds of book sales go to Ronald McDonald House South Island, you are directly helping families.

Ronald McDonald House South Island

Ronald McDonald House South Island has a simple mission: to improve the health and wellbeing of children by providing free accommodation and support to Kiwi families with children in hospital.

We operate three facilities, a 26-room Christchurch House, the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Christchurch Hospital, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room, Southland Hospital. We offer families free accommodation and support so they can be close and focus on what matters most - helping their children heal.
